Will serve adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities

SOMERSET, Ky. (July 29, 2016) — The Oakwood Community and Specialty Clinic will have its grand opening at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Somerset. The clinic will serve an array of health care needs for adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities (I/DD).

The clinic will provide adults with IDDs state-of-the-art medical, psychological, therapeutic and dental services provided on an outpatient basis and will also provide education programs for direct support staff involved with individualized patient care and a centralized contact for all services provided by the clinic.

The grand opening, at Oakwood Campus, 2441 US 27, Somerset, will feature activities for families of residents and tours of the new clinic.

Expected to attend the ceremony are: Cabinet for Health and Family Services Deputy Secretary Judge Timothy Feeley; BHDID Acting Commissioner Wendy Morris; Parent-Relative Family Organization for Oakwood Facilities Inc. President, Don Putnam; Somerset Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bobby Clue; and Bluegrass.org CEO Paul Beatrice.
