UK CAER Mineral Processing Interior Renovation

Lexington, KY

The University of Kentucky’s Center for Applied Energy Research (CAER) is undertaking a significant interior renovation of its Mineral Processing Facility to enhance research capabilities and administrative functions. This renovation aligns with CAER’s ongoing efforts to modernize its facilities and expand its research infrastructure.

Calhoun was selected as the general contractor for this project.  The project involves a 2,856-square-foot partial renovation of the existing Mortar and Concrete Lab, transforming part of the space into two new offices and a conference room while upgrading finishes in three existing offices. A new wall will separate the remaining lab area from the conference room, and an existing prefabricated environmental chamber will be removed to accommodate a new unit installed under a separate contract.
