The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government is constructing a new Senior and Therapeutic Recreation Center in Shillito Park, Lexington, Kentucky. This 26,000-square-foot facility aims to serve both seniors and individuals with disabilities, offering a range of programs and activities.  The center will feature amenities such as indoor archery, pickleball courts, and spaces for wheelchair sports like basketball and rugby. The initiative reflects the city’s commitment to providing inclusive recreational opportunities for its aging population and those with disabilities.

Calhoun Construction Services has been selected as the general contractor for this project.  The exterior will be ACM panels and brick, and the structure will consist of structural steel, cold form joists and exposed glue lam beams.
