Churchill Downs Executive Office
Horse racing in Kentucky dates back to 1789, when the first racecourse was constructed in Lexington. Almost 100 years later, in 1875, Churchill Downs officially opened its gates in Louisville and began its tradition as “Home of the Kentucky Derby” and the longest continually running sporting event in America.
Calhoun Construction Services served as the construction manager and general contractor on this renovation. The project included demolition of 1/2 a floor of space in an occupied building, and the tenant fit-out of the space. The project happened over a tight 3-month time line from start to finish. The project added a new structural stair that connected floor 3 to floor 4, new IT pods for Churchill, as well as new office and conference rooms.
