AMPED Technology Training Center

Louisville, KY

The AMPED Russell Station Technology Training Center was an initiative in Louisville’s Russell neighborhood, spearheaded by the nonprofit AMPED (Academy of Music Production Education and Development). The facility was designed to accommodate up to 90 students, doubling AMPED’s current training capacity.

Calhoun performed partial demolition of the existing building and then started on the new construction.  This three-story, 13,000-square-foot facility at 1701 W. Market Street aimed to bridge the digital divide by offering free, in-demand technology training programs to low-income residents, including courses in cloud computing, data analysis, and IT repair.  This included steel structures, brick and EIFS over cold formed metal stud exterior walls.
