Jewish Hospital Pharmacy Upgrade

UofL Health – Jewish Hospital (formerly KentuckyOne Health – Jewish Hospital) opened in 1905 with a mission to provide all patients with the highest quality care and a strong emphasis on research and education. Today, UofL Health – Jewish Hospital is a 462-bed, internationally renowned, high-tech tertiary referral center located in downtown Louisville, developing leading-edge advancements in a vast number of specialties and services.

Many of the hospital’s clinical programs have achieved national rankings for excellence. Noted for numerous medical firsts in Kentucky, the nation and the world, UofL Health – Jewish Hospital is the site of the nation’s first four hand transplants, and the world’s first and second successful AbioCor™ Implantable Replacement Heart transplant. The hospital is federally designated to perform all five solid organ transplants – heart, lung, liver, kidney and pancreas.

Calhoun serves as the construction manager for the renovation to upgrade the existing pharmacy compounding clean room area, to comply with the new USP 797/800 standards, and to receive new robot compounding equipment.

Mary and Elizabeth Hospital) is a 331-bed primary care hospital offering advanced treatment in orthopedics, cardiology, medical imaging, surgical and emergency services. Three on-campus medical plazas provide office space for a wide array of physicians representing a number of specialties. Additionally, UofL Health – Mary & Elizabeth Hospital is home to  Bariatric Care, the region’s only weight loss management program utilizing the Lap-Band® System. Serving the south Louisville community for more than a century, Sts. Mary & Elizabeth has literally cared for generations of families in this community.

Mill Creek Elementary

The mission of Mill Creek Leadership Academy is to work together with the students, families, and community to increase student achievement by developing the whole child and growing student leaders who will create their own destiny and make a difference with others, focusing on the 7 Habits of Happy Kids and Backpack of Success Skills.

The main objective of this project was electrical and mechanical upgrades. Calhoun performed selective demolition, framing and drywall, as well as new acoustical ceiling grid and tile throughout.


Austin Elementary School

Austin Elementary School is part of Scott County School District 1 and was originally built in 1957. They currently have approximately 700 student enrolled and 65 employees in grades K-5.

Calhoun Construction is acting as a Sub General Contractor on the Scott County School District 1 New Austin Elementary School and High School Renovation project in Austin, Indiana.  This project consists of 53,939 SF in renovation space and 97,108 SF of new construction. The project is to be completed in 2 Phases by August 2022.  Calhoun’s scope of work at the Elementary School includes all concrete, paving, playgrounds and equipment, landscaping, fencing, awnings, elevator, and construction site coordination, as well as selective demolition in the renovated buildings and new select finishes.  The High School includes renovating an interior pool area into a Multi-Purpose Gymnasium to be completed in Phase 1 by September 2021.  Calhoun’s scope of work includes demolition, pool infill, athletic equipment, bleachers, and flooring.


UofL Frazier Rehabilitation 3rd Floor Renovation

Known for world-class care in comprehensive acute rehab, UofL Health – Frazier Rehab Institute (formerly KentuckyOne Health – Frazier Rehab Institute) provides extensive therapy across a number of specialties for inpatient and outpatient rehab needs.

With over 60 years of rehab experience, Frazier is committed to the development of programs that combine traditional rehab with innovative therapeutic techniques.

Calhoun served as general contractor on this renovation and framed new walls, hung drywall, patched any imperfections on existing drywall.  All walls on the entire floor were newly painted and we installed grab bars, mirrors, soap and hand sanitizers, glove holders, and sanitizer wipes holder.
